Puppy Nanny Families

Our Puppy Nanny Families

At Pacific Northwest Doodles, raising emotionally sound, well-adjusted puppies isn’t something we leave to chance. It takes time, intention, and a whole lot of heart. That’s why we created our Puppy Nanny Program—a trusted, close-knit network of families who help us provide every litter with the hands-on care and nurturing start they deserve.

While we raise several litters each year in our own home, we also partner with a select group of women who share our values, our standards, and our deep love for dogs. These incredible women are affectionately known as our Puppy Nannies.

Who Are Our Puppy Nannies?

Our Puppy Nannies are carefully screened stay-at-home moms with a natural gift for nurturing and a passion for animals. They’re not hobby breeders or outside contractors—they’re part of our team. Each Nanny:

  • Receives hands-on training from us across several litters

  • Is fully trained in our protocols, routines, and care practices

  • Stays in close communication with our team throughout the process

Each Nanny family raises only one litter at a time to ensure that every puppy receives the round-the-clock care, socialization, and attention they need in their most formative weeks.

Inside a Puppy Nanny Home

From birth through six weeks of age, our Nanny-raised puppies live in clean, calm, family-centered homes where they’re nurtured like one of the family.

Puppies raised in a Puppy Nanny home experience:

  • In-home care from birth to 6 weeks old

  • Exposure to children, household sounds, cats, and typical daily routines

  • Age-appropriate socialization: gentle handling, noise desensitization, crate and potty introduction, and confidence-building activities

  • A structured early development plan focused on emotional well-being and resilience

We check in regularly with each Nanny family, provide all needed supplies and guidance, and stay actively involved throughout the entire process.

These are not “outsourced litters”—they’re a deeply trusted extension of our program and reflect the same values and care as the puppies raised in our own home.

What Happens After 6 Weeks?

At six weeks old, the puppies return to us for their final stage of development before going to their forever homes. During this time, we:

  • Continue crate and potty training foundations

  • Introduce new experiences and build confidence

  • Conduct temperament evaluations to help match puppies with the right families

  • Begin transitional training to help them settle smoothly into their new homes

This hybrid model allows us to give every litter the attention they need—without compromising the hands-on, high-quality experience we’re known for.

Why This Matters?

We’re proud of the puppies we raise—but just as proud of how we raise them.

The Puppy Nanny Program allows us to stay true to our mission: raising puppies with intention, consistency, and heart. It lets us scale responsibly, ensuring that every litter receives the personalized care and early socialization they need to thrive.

And most importantly, we believe in transparency. You deserve to know who’s raising your puppy, how they’re being cared for, and the love poured into every step of the process. We’re honored to walk that journey—with our Nannies, our mamas, and with you.

What’s the difference between Guardian Homes and Puppy Nanny Families?

Guardian Home

Purpose: Provide a permanent, loving home for one of our breeding dogs.

What They Do:

  • Raise one of our breeding dogs (usually from puppyhood) as their full-time family pet.

  • Allow Pacific Northwest Doodles to retain breeding rights for a set period (outlined in a contract).

  • Once the breeding career is complete, full ownership is transferred to the Guardian family.

  • The dog lives with the Guardian family for life.

Think of it as: Giving a breeding dog the opportunity to live a full, family-centered life instead of being housed in a kennel environment.

Ideal for: Families who want to be part of our program long-term and are located within driving distance of Boise, ID. Check out our Guardian Home Program HERE

Puppy Nanny Families

Purpose: Raise a single litter of puppies in their home from birth to around 6 weeks of age.

What They Do:

  • Temporary care for one litter at a time, in their home.

  • Follow our structured training, socialization, and care protocols.

  • Receive hands-on training and ongoing support from the Pacific Northwest Doodles team.

  • Puppies return to us at 6 weeks for continued training and evaluation before going to their forever families.

Think of it as: A temporary, nurturing role focused on the critical early weeks of puppy development.

Ideal for: Stay-at-home parents or individuals with flexible schedules who love puppies and want to help raise well-adjusted dogs without a long-term ownership commitment.

We’re currently only accepting families who live in or near Boise, Idaho, as this role involves close, hands-on collaboration.
